These lectures provide a concise introduction to the so-called “Beyond the Standard Model” physics, with particular emphasis on the problem of the mi- croscopic origin of the Higgs mass term and of the Electro-Weak symmetry breaking scale in connection with Naturalness. The standard scenarios of Su- persymmetry and Composite Higgs are shortly reviewed. An attempt is made to summarise the implications of the LHC run-1 results on what we expect to lie beyond (or behind) the Standard Model.
