The transfer of beams from one accelerators to another requires a set of parameters correctly adjusted, as well as a sequence of events to trigger all elements relevant to the transfer exactly at the right moment with respect to the beam. The course introduces the basic building blocks of synchronization systems and beam synchronous timing generation. The parameters for the transfer are then derived starting from longitudinal beam dynamics. Furthermore, The steps for the transfer of lepton and hadron beams between circular accelerators are summarized.Downloads
