Copy-editing

If requested by the editor of the volume, the manuscripts, once accepted by the editor himself, will be copy-edited – therefore checked for clarity and consistency, grammar and spelling, style and layout.

They will be sent to an external English-mother-tongue copy-editor who will check the language, if necessary, the completeness of the documents (figures, references and bibliography) and the consistency with the CERN Proceedings’ guidelines and style.

The external copy-editors we choose have experience in the publishing and production of scientific documents and knowledge of bibliographic standards for references. They will ensure the documents’ conformity to the styles and layout required.

Once your contribution has been copy-edited, you will receive a message through the system and you will be asked to check the suggested changes and/or questions raised by the copy-editor and to make your revisions. Watch this video tutorial to learn how to do it.
