Linear colliders are promising candiates for future high energy lepton colliders. Two options are studied in global collaborations, ILC and CLIC. Beam-beam effects are an important driver of linear collider design choices and they affect the performance of physics experiments. The lecture introduces the main physics relevant for the beam collision and the impact on the parameter choice.
